Indian Music Trail / Indian Dance Trail
The project is a key initiative of Kalapremi that aims to enrich the understanding and appreciation of Indian dance and music through workshops, classes, events, festivals, showcases and more. Working in partnership with various organisations and having strong links with educational institutions like the Newcastle University and the regional dance organisation like the DanceCity, this project has gained momentum and popularity since its start in 2005.
Just Jugalbandhil
Just Jugalbandhi was conceived as a duet ensemble project exploring the two schools of Indian Classical Music – Hindustani and Carnatic. This in-house music project also aims to encourage the local talent bubbling in the UK. Kalapremi is committed to develop the talent of local resident artists and also showcase their skills. This project spans across various verticals from performance, education to composition.
Kala Jyothi Awards
The ‘Kala Jyothi Awards’ initiated by Kalapremi, recognises the perseverance and commitment that accomplished artists have invested in excelling their chosen art form. Literally translating to ‘art flame’, this award is an appreciation from Kalapremi with a strong belief that the awardee will be a torchbearer to inspire more minds.
